A friendly ukulele group for people who enjoy playing and singing together in a supportive setting.
Paddock Wood Ukulele Club is a relaxed, informal group for anyone who enjoys making music together! We focus on playing, singing and enjoying each other’s company, rather than performance or perfection.
The club is currently free of charge, and there is no obligation to attend every session.
Who it’s for
The club is open to adult of all abilities. You are welcome to come along even if you have never picked up a ukulele before – we have instruments you can borrow.
Our current group now has playing and performing experience, so complete beginners may find it helpful to have a few basics under their belt. If you are brand new and would like to get started, please feel free to get in touch to chat things through.
Children are very welcome to attend with a responsible adult, provided they are able to take part safely and respectfully in a group setting.
When and where
We generally meet during term time on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month, subject to change.
Time: Arrive from 4.45 pm to set up and buy a drink. Playing from 5 pm to 6.30 pm.
Venue: The John Brunt VC pub, corner of Church Road and Old Kent Road, Paddock Wood.
What happens in a session
Sessions are friendly and informal, and usually include:
- playing and singing familiar songs together
- building confidence with chords and rhythm
- learning at a steady, supportive pace
- plenty of encouragement and laughter
There is no pressure to play or sing solo, and you are always welcome to join in at your own pace.
Working together
Paddock Wood Ukulele Club often collaborates with Paddock Wood Community Voices for local community events and performances. These are always optional, and are very much about sharing music together and building community.
Staying in touch
Session dates are always confirmed on Facebook and in our WhatsApp group, which you are welcome to join if you wish.
If you have any questions or would like to be added to our WhatsApp group, please get in touch.
