Paddock Wood Community Voices

We are a relaxed, friendly community singing group focused on wellbeing, connection, and the joy of singing together.

Who it’s for

We are open to adults of all abilities. No auditions, no solos, no need to read music – just a willingness to join in. I often say we are “Singing for the terrified!”

What happens in a session

  • Arrive early for a cuppa while we set up the session
  • Gentle physical and vocal exercises and warmups
  • Brain training games and singing rounds with actions
  • Familiar songs of participants’ choice
  • Space to breathe, laugh and connect
  • A supportive, non-judgemental atmosphere

What PWCV is not

Paddock Wood Community Voices is not a choir, and we are very intentional about this. Many people come to us carrying difficult past experiences of singing at school, including being told to mime, being singled out, or being excluded altogether.

At PWCV, everyone is welcome to sing. There are no expectations of perfection and no judgement. This is a space to experience singing together, safely and joyfully,

Community Performances

From time to time, PWCV is invited to take part in local community events, such as Rockin’ in the Rec and various Christmas celebrations. These performances are always optional and there is no pressure to take part.

When we do perform, it is in the same spirit as our sessions. We share the joy of singing together, rather than aiming for polish. Our members find these events enjoyable and confidence-boosting, but choosing not to take part is always respected.
